EPDM Rubber Gaskets
From the rooftops of our homes to the cars we drive every day, EPDM has cemented its place as one of the most versatile and common rubber elastomers on the market today. This synthetic material can tackle many tricky chemicals, tough insulating applications, and with stand the best Mother Nature can throw at your project.
Blaylock Gasket & Packing is proud to be your preferred source for EPDM (Ethylene Propylene). We proudly stock Ethylene Propylene in a wide variety of thicknesses, durometer, and sizes to create the perfect EPDM gaskets for you. Whether you need sheets, rolls or custom gaskets, EPDM may be an ideal material for your specific application. As always, we partner with massive corporations, but we’re proud to be small business-friendly, refusing to hold our customers hostage by excessive minimums.
What is EPDM?
EPDM is the shortened acronym for Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer. EPDM rubber has excellent resistance to ozone, steam, strong acids and alkali. Not recommended for use with solvents and aromatic hydrocarbons. There are different grades of EPDM and we would be happy to help you select the proper material to ensure an adequate seal. We also offer EPDM extrusions, molded parts and O-Rings.
What are the advantages of EPDM?
-
TOUGHNESS: One of EPDM’s main strengths lies in its ability to handle the great outdoors. EPDM resists aging when exposed to harsh conditions like weather, UV and higher temperatures. EPDM also can offer lower electrical conductivity. Peroxide-cured EPDM offer even higher temperature and chemical resistance.
-
AFFORDABILITY: While there are some chemicals and environments where EPDM would not be a good choice (always check with our team) EPDM is cheaper than many other high-temp and chemical resistant materials.
- VARIETY: If dimensional stability is required, we offer a nylon reinforced EPDM. Need a seal in the kitchen, Blaylock offers a white FDA EPDM. We run the gambit on EPDM materials – from commercial grade to mil-spec EPDM. Our NSF 61 rated EPDM is perfect for potable water applications in places like bottling plants, water departments, water storage facilities and treatment plants.
Types of EPDM
Blaylock offers a wide variety of EPDM materials – our team is ready to help you find the ideal material. We can custom compound EPDM as well.
COMMERCIAL GRADE EPDM
Our most economical EPDM, but a superior material, nonetheless. For most applications where EPDM is required our commercial grade product will do the trick.

FOOD GRADE EPDM
Our white FDA EPDM is manufactured with FDA white list ingredients per FDA Title 21 of CFR177.2600. It is non-marking and a popular choice in food and pharmaceutical applications. It is a superior, long-life sheet designed specifically for general gasketing, countertops and skirting in all areas of food processing and pharmaceutical and cosmetics manufacturing.

PEROXIDE CURED EPDM
Most EPDM materials are sulfur cured. Blaylock offers a superior peroxide-cured EPDM product for added strength and resistance. Peroxide curing ups the temperature resistance, reduces aging and improves compression set data. Peroxide cured materials also offer increased chemical resistance in many applications. Our team can help determine if you need this exceptional product.
